Public Safety Communications Center Assistant Manager
As a Public Safety Communications Center Assistant Manager, you will ensure the responsiveness and operation of the Airports Authority emergency communications for police, fire, and rescue services.
Serves in the Public Safety Communications Center (PSCC) in the Office of Public Safety, located at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Directly, and through subordinate Program Managers and Shift Supervisors, manages the daily operation and support functions of the Public Safety Communications Center. Ensures the effective 24/7 operation of the PSCC; supervises and evaluates the Shift Supervisors. Oversees the Training and Quality Assurance Program Manager and function, ensuring training standards performance indicators are achieved. Guides the Standards and Accreditation Program Manager and function, ensuring all department policies are up-to-date and implemented and steps are taken toward achieving accreditation. Performs related functions.
Eight years of progressively responsible experience staffing a 24/7 emergency call center or ensuring continuous operation of public safety and emergency communications systems and equipment.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Management, or related field.
A state driver’s license in good standing.
Certification as a Communications Center Supervisor from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International, or an equivalent certification.
Certification as an NCIC/VCIN Operator within 3 months of hire, promotion, or placement in the job.
