
Police Officer
NAU Police Officers patrol assigned area to detect and deter criminal or suspicious activity as well as investigate accidents and crimes and writes detailed daily reports to document incidents on campus. The NAU PD provides professional, courteous and effective service to all campus members, including students and university guests. Investigates complaints and works to resolve conflicts both on campus and concerning the campus community.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED Experience Credentials
Current AZPOST certification in good standing, or ability to obtain after successful completion of police academy or through waiver process.
21 years of age upon completion of academy, US citizen, and meets AZPOST standards.
Possess current AZ Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of law enforcement practices and procedures.
Skill in analytical, objective observation of situations and quick decision making.
Maintain proficiency in law enforcement equipment.
Maintain ability to perform to physical requirements of the job.
Skill in managing situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and impartially.
Skill in the accurate and complete recording of information.
Ability to communicate effectively both in verbal and written formats.
Skill in keyboarding and the operation of a personal compute.
