Initial testing is tentatively set for the month of early mid-July 2019.
A second round of testing is tentatively scheduled late August 2019.
Patrols assigned areas on foot, bicycle, or by motorized vehicle to control traffic, prevent or deter crime and arrest violators; issues warnings or citations to drivers when violations of motor vehicle laws are observed; enforces Federal and State laws as well as University rules.
Investigates all types of crimes and accidents; performs follow-up duties on crimes/accidents as directed by supervisor; interviews suspects and witnesses; collects evidence and facts; files appropriate reports as directed by federal, state, or local legal requirements.
Prepares detailed written reports of crimes, accidents, and incidents.
Responds to emergency alarms and calls for service; makes decisions based on analysis of situation and facts.
Serve warrants, subpoenas or other court processes as necessary
Responds to public service calls such as delivering emergency messages, motorist assists, animal complaints, civil complaints, domestic disturbances.
Investigates reports of missing persons, identifies areas of potential crimes or unsafe conditions; reports conditions and takes corrective actions.
Works with the university residents/community and other outside public agencies to solve residential/university concerns.
Make oral presentations to citizen groups on crime prevention/public safety issues.
Train sworn and non-sworn personnel on departmental policies, procedures and activities.

Knowledge of law enforcement practices and procedures

Ability to communicate effectively both in verbal and written formats.
Skill in keyboarding and the operation of a personal compute
21 years of age upon completion of academy, high school diploma or GED, U.S. citizen, meet AZPOST standards (www.azpost.state.az.us); OR
Possess officer in good standing certification with Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board; OR
Equivalent out-of-state certification; must obtain AZPOST certification within 60 days from date of hire; AND
Possession of a current Arizona Class D driver’s license upon employment.
