Monier Heads CALEA
CALEA Commissioners selected an Executive Committee for
2002 with new Commissioners filling two vacated positions. Commission
Chair/President William Miller stepped down after providing three years of
excellent leadership. Commission Vice President, Retired Chief Stephen Monier,
Goffstown (NH) was selected as the Chair/President. more

A graduate of the
University of North Carolina, Marilyn Stieneke has held responsibility for
compliance issues and quality initiatives in a number of agency settings
throughout the past 24 years. more
Public Safety Training Academy Accreditation Adopted
At the San Diego CALEA Conference Commissioners approved
the Public Safety Training Academy Accreditation (PSTAA) Program by adopting the
draft 182 standards and related operational process. more
September 11 and Military Leaves of Absence
The tragic events
of September 11 have affected all Americans and resulted in a major military
effort to defeat terrorism. America’s
law enforcement and other public safety agencies have been especially hard hit
with the call-up from their ranks of reservists and/or national guard members. more

In San Diego, Commissioners approved an “Official
Interpretation” to clarify the issue of performance evaluation for reserve

The Incident Command System-A Management Tool for Emergencies
Presented by Mr. William Wolf at the CALEA November
Conference in San Diego, Ca. Mr. Wolf, a 27-year veteran of the San Diego
Police Department, retired in August of 2001 as a Sergeant. For 22 years,
he oversaw the City’s Emergency Management Office and the Police
Department’s Critical Incident Management Unit. more

have received 100% on their latest assessor certification test. Top Assessors review all proposed new questions for the

Your Commissioner- James M. O’Dell
Chief Jim O’Dell was born and raised in Jamestown, NY.
He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business Administration
and Education from Emporia State University located in Emporia, Kansas. He
is a graduate of the Police Foundation Harvard Business School Senior Management
Institute, the FBI National Academy, and Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE)
Program. more

The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation
officially entered the CALEA Alliance when Commissioners accepted the CALEA
staff review report. more
