The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA®) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sylvester Daughtry, Jr. as Executive Director. Mr. Daughtry's proven leader­ship and vision as a law enforcement professional will enhance CALEA's high standards for international accreditation services for law enforcement and public safety communications agencies.

Director Daughtry retired in 1998 from the Greensboro, North Carolina, Police Department after serving as Chief of Police for eleven years. He was appointed as a CALEA Commissioner in 1990 and served as the Commission's chairman from 1995 - 1998. He was also elected president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police in 1994.

The Commission on Accreditation extends its best wishes and congratulations to Executive Director, Sylvester Daughtry, Jr.
